One is on a Bali shoreline at dusk, where Jade Piper lets Darya Malevych move from a borrowed chambray shirt to a white gown the tide slowly claims, a red rimmed ship's wheel raised to the last of the sun with no ship anywhere in sight.
Then it warms and turns inward, Matthew Costello keeping Tanni No in the shade of a villa, blush pink lace and dark curls and a carafe sweating on the table while an afternoon goes nowhere on purpose, Unfiltered and in no hurry about it.
Lastly, bright an ocean away, Jessee B setting Georgîa against the black volcanic rock of Laguna Beach under a white Pacific sun, bare skin and hard light and stone that gives nothing back. Two Bali stories that could not sit further apart, and a California coast that answers them both.
