IRINA ZHANADOVA . SINEAD FINEGAN.

Somewhere between the doorway and the shoreline, a camera has to decide how close it is allowed to stand. Jessee B stays back in Los Angeles, shooting Irina Zhdanova from the far end of a kitchen where a surfboard hangs over the pink cabinets and a long necked woman in oil paint watches from the wall, so Irina first reads as one more portrait in the room and then, to everyone’s relief, moves. She sulks over the counter, turns her back to study the art like any other visitor, and finally laughs.

Oscar Bueno gives Sinead Finegan no such distance in Mallorca, following her debut through clear shallows and along a rock face in a single deep red, close enough to count the drops, with a straw cowboy hat turning up in exactly one frame and a stream of water falling over her from above. It is Unfiltered, sun warmed, and unbothered by how near the lens gets. Over a hundred pages cover every distance in between, and the whole issue is yours to keep.
